E.S.M. is a 501.C3 non-profit corporation. This enables the school to solicit funds to underwrite our program and offer a tax deduction to all donors. We have a board of directors, and committees which meet once a month or more, to discuss current events, community projects and school operations, to name a few. Becoming “non-profit” also means E.S.M. is an entity of the state and the people, and that all funds generated by E.S.M. above the operating costs must be re-invested towards the mandateof the school or given to another non-profit or charitable organization.

Collaborations with other Arts Organizations in our community are currently preparing to us to offer more services and educational opportunities in our regional area.

We need not be shy about the role we perform as music educators. We give children and young people (and older people too) a wide range of essential life skills, as well as the skills to be successful in the modern world, and we give them something else too, for music education is also about two other things. It puts us in touch with where we come from, our cultural heritage or heritages, and there can be no better basis than that on which to build our visions of the future.

Professional guidance. It is in the best interest of the Encinitas School of Music, our students and their parents, as well as the general public, that we uphold the integrity and professionalism of the music and teaching industry. We are here because this is exactly where we want to be. We screen our staff diligently. We expect nothing but the best effort and professional conduct from each member of our team.
