ESoM's Jazz Band, The Big Blast Band, performed for the Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute summer concert series/fundraiser on June 23rd. The setting was on the shores of Mission Bay next to SeaWorld and was a memorable evening for guests and especially for the performers. The chance to live and perform music at the some of the most beautiful settings in the world is an experience we are happy to share with our students and ESoM members!
ESoM Jazz Big Band Director Ron Ebel has been hard at work in our recording studio laying down tracks with members of the big band. The recording experience is a different beast for any musician and provides a unique perspective of recordings they have been enjoying since childhoood.
New technology promises any enthusiest with a laptop that they can record the next big sound. Students who spend time in our studio quickly understand the dynamics of a studio session is much different!
Our studio is available for any groups or solo musicians who would like a top notch recording. Studio fees are extremely reasonable and 100% of the proceeds support the different programs of ESoM.
Master instructor Ron Ebel directed the ESoM summer Jazz Band Camp for a week in July. Campers studied some advanced jazz techniques and put on a great performance on the last day of camp. The music charts were intense and required skillful note reading. No tablature here!
Director Steve Rollins and Instructor KC Howard were called upon to provide instruction for the Ecke Family YMCA summer music camp called "Jam On". Our task was to introduce 7-11 year old campers to many different instruments. The last day of camp was a performance for family, friends and other summer camps in which our young students demonstrated some of their new found music skills.
More fun and music to come at the upcoming Leucadia ArtWalk on Sunday August 30. Let's keep live performance going on!!
Another fun performance on the ESoM stage at the Encinitas 101 Street Fair held on April 25 & 26. The staff of ESoM works their tails off to make this happen for our young performers.
We appreciate that our hard work and standing in our community is recognized by the Gity of Encinitas and DEMA which provides a special place at this event for the ESoM stage so students can experience the rush of live performance.
The Encinitas School of Music presented their annual piano recital on Sunday, April 19, 2015 from 2 to 3 pm. The recital was held in the Synagogue at the Seacrest Village Retirement Community at 211 Saxony Rd. Parking is available next door in the Silverado parking lot.
