Teaching Style:
For me, the key to learning the guitar is a thorough knowledge of the fingerboard. While the different styles of music are vast, the placement of notes, scales and chord shapes on the fingerboard remains the same. Once I get a student to understand and visualize the fingerboard, any music they desire to learn is at their fingertips.

As an Author:
Throughout my teaching career I searched for books to use with my students. I often found them to be confusing and tedious for the student, so I decided to put my teaching techniques into book form. I used simplicity and large diagrams in order to make the learning process as easy as is humanly possible. My books are entitled as the "Introduction To" series. Available title are:

  • An Introduction to Scales For The Guitarist An Introduction to Modes For The Guitarist An Introduction to Arpeggios For The Guitarist An Introduction to Chord Construction For The Guitarist
  • An Introduction to Musical Symbols For The Guitarist

Prices range from $10 to $25 and are available at ESoM, or you can order directly from me by calling ESM, or email me at srollins@esom.org.

Recording Arts
ESoMs recording studio was designed and built by myself. My early career in construction and the gazillions of hours wearing headphones dissecting recordings has paid off. Producing a successful recording session is as artistic and demanding as any live performance I have ever done. Click on the Recording Studio icon on the homepage for details.

How cool is it that a student can tell his or her friends to visit the ESoM website and check out their CD!
